I just received notice that the Department of Defense, one of the largest congressionally mandated funds for ovarian cancer research, is talking about slashing the funding for ovarian cancer this year.
This is the first year that I will be a consumer advocate for the DoD Ovarian Cancer Research Program. The DoD is one of the largest funders for ovarian cancer research and the research funded has extended the lives of many women now living with chronic ovarian cancer.
